Bhutan's tourism model is different from most countries: independent, unguided travel is not permitted for most visitors. Every international traveller — except those from India — must travel on a pre-arranged, pre-paid programme organised through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or one of its overseas partners.
Why book through a local operator
As a licensed local operator based in Thimphu, we arrange every element of your trip — a private guide and driver, all hotels, meals, permits, entry fees and your visa — and we are on the ground if anything needs changing. Because we deal directly with hotels, guides and the authorities, there is no middleman markup.
How the process works
- Tell us your dates, interests, pace and budget.
- We design a custom itinerary and refine it with you.
- You confirm and pay; the payment also covers your Sustainable Development Fee.
- We process your visa and send your travel documents.
- You arrive to a guide and driver waiting at Paro or the border.
Everything is customisable — tell us what you want and we design around it, whether that is a gentle cultural loop, a festival trip or a demanding high-altitude trek.
