Entering Bhutan is straightforward once you are booked with a licensed operator, but there are a few requirements to sort out before you travel.
What you need
- A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
- A visa, which we process for you — or, for Indian nationals, an entry permit with a valid passport or Voter ID card.
- A confirmed tour booked through a licensed Bhutanese operator.
- Payment of the daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF), which applies to most visitors.
Health and other practicalities
There are no mandatory vaccinations for entry unless you are arriving from a yellow-fever risk country. Routine travel immunisations are advisable, and comprehensive travel insurance that covers emergency medical evacuation is strongly recommended given Bhutan's mountainous terrain.
We handle all the visa and permit paperwork as part of your booking, so there is no need to visit a Bhutanese embassy — you simply send us a scan of your passport and a photograph, and we take care of the rest.
